ESC Congress is the world's largest and most influential cardiovascular congress. Organised by the European Society of Cardiology, the 2026 edition returned to Munich for the first time since 2018 and brought together more than 30,000 participants from every cardiology subspecialty, both on site at Messe München and online.
Under the motto "Transforming Cardiology, Together," ESC 2026 placed particular emphasis on the integration of artificial intelligence across cardiology — its role in diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning and workflow efficiency, and whether responsibly deployed AI can widen access to specialist care and reduce healthcare inequalities. The programme featured landmark clinical trials, new ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines, the RISE programme for women in cardiology, and the Bavarian Connection networking evening.
