He is actively engaged in scientific research at the OLV Aalst Heart Center and CARIM, where his work primarily revolves around epigenetics and biomarker research.

Dr. Martin Penicka is an acclaimed cardiologist specialising in non-invasive imaging, valvular disease, and corfals with PhD Doctorate in Medical Sciences and certifications as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (FEACVI). He has been an integral member of Heart Center OLV Aalst since 2009.

Dr. Yassir Javaid
Dr. Javaid is the Cardiovascular Clinical Lead at East Midlands Clinical Networks, qualified from Cambridge University. He has a specialist interest in cardiology and echocardiography and was a clinical lead in the Northamptonshire Community Cardiology service. He was named Pulse “GP of the Year” in 2015 for his work in reducing stroke emergency admissions. He is on the editorial board for the British Journal of Cardiology.

With General Medicine and Cardiology training in Oxford, Cambridge, and Canada, he was awarded the Mirium L Burnett Fellowship in Electrophysiology and Devices. Dr. Khan’s exceptional contributions have earned him the Young Investigator Award and the prestigious Ralph Noble Prize.

Richard is an Emergency Medicine and Pre-Hospital Care Consultant at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Clinical Lead for the Medic One flying squad. He is also a Helicopter Emergency Medical Services Consultant and Director of Research for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance. He undertook a unique doctorate thesis on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, a project that has developed into a national strategy for cardiac arrest in Scotland.
